Jim Robinson
Director of Technology. An accomplished microbiologist, Jim is a managing member of MicroBionetics and serves as our Director of Technology. Jim also currently serves as a professor of biology and microbiology at Central Georgia Technical College. Prior to joining MicroBionetics, Jim was the Director of Microbiology for ANCO, a division of Chem-Aqua, an NCH Corporation. During his time with ANCO, Jim was in charge of Legionnaires’ disease research, laboratory testing protocols and test design. Jim was one of the principal investigators on the rapid Legionella identification test developed by the Binax Corporation. Jim has given numerous seminars throughout the United States on Legionnaires’ disease prevention, as well as on microbiology testing. He has been involved in successful epidemiology investigations regarding Legionnaires’ disease with both private and state run hospitals. Jim is a graduate of Kennedy-Western University, is a 2002 and 2003 honored member of Strathmore’s Who’s Who, and is an active member of the American Society for Microbiology and The Society of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology. Jim is named on two U.S. Patents for microbiological analysis of clinical samples.
 
T.J. MattimoreDirector of Legal and Regulatory Affairs. T.J. is a managing member of MicroBionetics and serves as Director of Legal and Regulaoty Affairs. Prior to joining MicroBionetics, T.J. was an attorney in the corporate governance department of MBNA Corporation, where he handled many different corporate governance, securities law and executive compensation matters, including compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. T.J. also practiced corporate law from 1997 to 2003 at three leading law firms in New York City—Morrison & Foerster LLP, Torys LLP and Chadbourne & Parke LLP—handling complex financings, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, securities, intellectual property and general corporate matters. T.J. is a graduate of Georgetown University’s College of Arts and Sciences and the Georgetown University Law Center, and is a member of the New York Bar.
 
Peter CopeChief Executive Officer.  Peter is the newest member of the MicroBionetics management team and serves as our Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to joining MicroBionetics, Peter was a senior executive for the Pall Corporation, where he directed global sales and marketing units with annual sales approaching $225 million.  While at Pall, Peter also worked in all aspects of product conception, including leading teams in research and development, laboratory technical support and manufacturing for complete product releases and subsequent field launches.  Peter's revisions of distributor and purchasing plans improved corporate margins, rationalized multiple product lines and reduced manufacturing lead times.  In 2002, Peter formed InfiniTech, a strategic business development company.  InfiniTech serves companies in diverse industries by creating and implementing strategies for product and distribution expansion.  Peter graduated from St. Olaf College with a degree in organic chemistry, and received his masters degree in polymer chemistry and chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology.

Peter Rising
President of IME and Inventor of the CultureStat Technology. Peter is the President of our majority owner, IME, Inc. Peter formed IME in 1981, concentrating first on the development and sale of private label customized water test kits. Peter’s work in the water testing field resulted in his recognizing the need for major improvements in microbiological testing. In 1992, Peter and an associate were granted a patent for a vacuum sealed glass ampoule which allowed for the combining of test reagents into a single unit, single step, long life tester. First known as the IME.Test Ampoule, this technology is now the basis for the CultureStat device. Prior to founding IME, Peter was Operations Manager and Subsidiary Vice President of Ecologic Instrument, a subsidiary of U.S. Filter Corporation. He was responsible for turning the subsidiary into a profitable operation within one year. Prior to his time at Ecologic Instrument, Peter was employed by Singer Leasing Company and later Doubleday Company, where he performed in a variety of financially related positions including chief accountant, budget analyst and financial analyst. Peter served two years in the Army Finance Corp. as a First Lieutenant, and filled a position normally assigned to a lieutenant colonel teaching statistical quantitative analysis for quality control and assurance to senior grade officers and DOD civilian managers. Peter is a graduate of the University of Vermont and earned an MBA from Long Island University.
 
Thomas N. DufekChief Financial OfficerTom brings over 20 years of experience in accounting and finance to MicroBionetics. A certified public accountant, Tom was a partner of the CPA firm of Kilgannon, Furey, Dufek and Company from 1984-2000, and was a managing partner of the Babylon-based firm from 1992-2000. Tom then served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice-President of The Tyree Organization, Ltd., a construction company based in Farmingdale, NY, from 2000-2002. Since 2002, Tom has been President of Dufek and Associates, providing financial consulting and management advisory services to closely-held businesses, non-profit organizations and high net worth individuals. Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Hofstra University.
